Common questions
Do I need help, or can I apply on my own?
Anyone can apply, but long-term care applications involve strict rules, financial records and deadlines. Small mistakes can cause delays or denials. Amy makes sure it is done right the first time.
What is the look-back period?
For long-term care Medicaid, the state reviews asset transfers made in the five years before you apply. Gifts or transfers in that window can cause a penalty period, so it pays to plan ahead.
Will my family have to spend down everything?
Not always. Depending on your situation, there may be legal ways to protect some assets. Amy works with an elder law attorney when a case calls for it.
How much do your services cost?
Every family’s situation is different, so there is no one-size-fits-all price. Give Amy a call, tell her what you are facing, and we will work out an arrangement together that fits your needs.
My application was denied. Can you still help?
Yes. We review previously denied applications, find out what went wrong and help you decide on the next step.
